When the lights go down...

Favorite Movie Quote

"Life is saucy. We don't need to leave weak sauce behind. Keep it real, sun. Keep shining like one."

The Juice Maker to Big Daddy Pimp in SF DONS IN NY, 1998

An annotated list of all the star's film, television, and stage appearances is underconstruction.

Please find pictures and comments on each film. Sample sound and video files will be included, if I can get my hands on some.

I AM
also known as "The Original Monkey Kings"
(1997; Duncan Cooper, director)

Starring:
Monkey2, Monkey1 (Duncan Cooper) and Monkey3 (Jonsen Vitug)
or was that- Monkey3,Monkey1 and Monkey2?

The Original Monkey Kings; Actual size=240 pixels wide

Figueroas' performance in this movie seems to go beyond performance: he sinks so deeply into the role of Monkey3 that you almost forget he's Figueroa. Monkey2 is not a likable performance, and it's not an especially likable film (the fight sequences still make me wince), but it is perhaps the high point of his career.

ZEN AND HIS JUNKIE
(1997, Mia Aguilar Figueroa, director)

Starring: Zen (Rome Figueroa) and His Junkie (Mia Aguilar Figueroa)

miarome.jpg

A beautiful story of love, parties and surfing between two musicians living in Los Angeles. Aleks Figueroa has a minor role as dishwasher. A good story accompanied by oscar nominated performances but not for the weak of stomachs.

SF DONS IN NY
(1998, Jonsen Vitug, Director)

Starring:
Chico the Watch Dealer (Aleks Figueroa), Mohammed the Pencil Sharpener (David Lyons), Bong the Juice Maker (Jonsen Vitug) and Big Daddy Pimp (Andy Bellows as himself)

newyork.jpg

Not a big movie at the box office with this superstar cast. The big bosses from the west make moves in the big mansana. The crew try to keep the Juice Maker from spilling his cup. Not to give anything away, the crew leave the Juice Maker Uptown for a year until they remember they forgot something.

ANOTHER DINNER IN THE CITY
(1998, Andrew Masaki Bellows, Director)

Starring:
Big Daddy Pimp (Andy Bellows), His Girl (Jonsen Vitug), Lounge Singer Jet Black (Jet Castillo), The Enforcer (Aleks Figueroa), The Man- Jon.Jon Guzman (as himself).

dinnercity.jpg

Big Daddy Pimp makes no money with his employee and looks toward starving Lounge Act Jet Black for new beginnings. The Enforcer is gainfully employed between all the characters need for dinner security. The man is the man. A good musical with good food and company. 4 red licourish sticks!

TITO TIO
(2001, Excel Figueroa, Director)

Starring: Tito Tio (Aleks Figueroa), Killer J (Jack Figueroa)

jacko.jpg

This action packed gangster flick rates among the best of them. Killer J is the menacing 2 foot tall mercenary and Tito Tio is the aswang hair-fighter behind the kicks and screams of Killer J. An oscar nomination went to the under tall star for his ear-defying screams.

FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME
(2001, Edward Figueroa, Director)

Starring:
The Girlfriend Radio Host (Crystal), The Jeepney Driver (Jonas Figueroa), The Atis Dealer (Kuya Lito), Bossing (Don Figueroa), The Balikbayan (Aleks Figueroa), The Raver (Excel Figueroa), Iceman (Kuya Egg)

firsttime.jpg

A small reunion for the balikbayan brings the radio host and the jeepney driver together. Bossing pits the Atis Dealer vs. the Iceman in illegal car races while the Raver hustles billiard games on the side to pay for his late night hitas.

TO THE END
(1999, Monkeys At Play Production)

Starring:
Tip-Toe Joe (Duncan Cooper), Crouching Tigerbalm (Aleks Figueroa), Hidden Thumbs (Jonsen Vitug) and starstudded cast

"I will die for my family!"

Set in J-Town, San Francisco, California this epic battle was the last movie shot in the historical Japan Bowl. In this scene, Hidden Thumbs (played by Vitug) gets brainjacked and foolishly tries to combat the heroes, Tip-Toe Joe and Crouching Tigerbalm, not realizing they're family.

A true to life story of love, family, and friends battling the forces of The Evil Monkey Clan played by Monkey Grip (Andy Bellows), Monkey Shoes (Jet Castillo) with special appearances by Brown Monkey (Valentino Cubales as himself), Monkey 007 (Victor Coloyan) and Monkey Lovebug (Herbie Love).
